Most of us, during these sue happy days early in the 21st century would expect problems with Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars which sits almost next door, but in the 1970′s Carl Doumani didn’t expect problems. The problems continued to the property itself, which needed almost immediate extensive renovations. The winery was recently sold to the Beringer wine interest, according to this wine club that might not be the best thing. We’re at present unsure about quality levels which have stayed close to the same for a long number of vintages. Priced fairly for both the location and the quality, Stag’s Leap is a sold if unspectacular winery. They create a wide range of well known favorites such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and a Chardonnay which always seems to keep the possibility of greater things into the future. As with most Beringer properties, they’re happy to give you a nice tour, which is well worth the time.
